Passing on the Wheel of Life

Mom
I always enjoyed your prayers
In part because
You spoke so softly
It was easy to feel
The sentiment.

At this time
I offer this prayer,
          for
Us.

Creative Almighty Light,
Which we are all apart,
Illuminate the all that is perfect
As we transition
From one form
To another.

We are not
Here today to say
To our
Wife, mother, and friend
Goodbye, or see you soon,
But to say,
We will see you always.
You will continue to be
Our shining star,
Guiding light,
Lighthouse for that place
We need and want to be.

I pray for our new adventure
As a family
Surrounding one another
In a different way.

Creative Almighty Light
Let there never be
A last laugh,
A last smile,
A last lesson,
Or a last touch.

Let the lessons
Never stop;
Like when we last spoke
And you said
How glad you were that
I was not waiting in
Some other world
To join you
In this life;
Schooling me on
The after life
That is just like
What came before.

What time is it?
On the wheel of life,
A half past a passing
And a quarter to
Forever.

I pray you show us all
The way
To remain
Forever together,
Hand in hand
Remembering who we are,
          in
The light of your love.
